I have learned a lot from Jose over the past year and he has really helped me to fine tune my Spanish skills. He works around my busy travel schedule and is a person you can feel comfortable inviting to your house for lessons. Several people in our Panama offices are taking lessons from him and we are all very satisfied. I'd recommend him for people with any level of Spanish skills.

Jose's teaching style is very good for beginners with no background in Spanish. He takes you through the basics, emphasises on speaking and pronunciation.
As he uses a textbook written in English (coincidentally one which was used by my friend during her undergraduate course in the USA), the learning method is systematic and well-explained.
Jose is easy-going and good-humoured which makes his lessons very enjoyable. I have recommended him to my friends.

I was a complete beginner when I started lessons with Jose. I have enjoyed every step of our journey.
I like the way he emphasises conversation as well as study of the language.
I am interested in the construction of language and Jose has been extremely good in his explanations of why things are the way they are in Espanol.
I also like the text book he uses in his lessons. It is interesting and teaches Spanish with common sense and clear explanations.

I have made a lot of progress in my Spanish with Jose. I've worked with three teachers before him, and I really enjoy his style of "learn by association" and prefer it to others'. In a year and a half, I have moved from speaking some words to being able to understand business conversations in Spanish and express my ideas and thoughts in simple terms.
Spanish is my forth language, and I believe that it is very important that Jose holds a professional degree in teaching Spanish because not everyone who speaks a language could teach it. The classes are structured to accommodate individual goals of a student. I like that we focus equally on reading, writing, understanding and speaking Spanish. Learning with Jose is not intimidating - I always feel that if I do not understand something he would help me.
Jose has helped me address language barrier for work - improving the relationships with my customers. He is very accommodating of the busy travel schedule at my work, and very punctual. I continue to study with Jose and plan to take DELE exam in May 2010.
